Innovating while preserving journalistic values

According to a study by Cision France, 91% of journalists use social networks in their work. And 54% even say they can no longer do without it to practice their profession. Social networks have become a substantial work tool in the journalism. In addition, the demand for information has changed. The public is no longer necessarily looking for investigative journalism or longer articles, but for snackable content that can be consumed quickly and is easy to share on social networks. Journalists are also forced to adapt to this new reality.
The FPPJ-SBBJ follows these developments. The mission it sets itself is tto protect the journalistic profession from threats that underrmine its essence.

A European vision
Europe is on the move. European society is increasingly taking shape thanks to numerous projects, including media projects. The value of these is recognized by all European countries. Our foundation shares this view and offers itself for the research and other projects set up European institutions.

Fight against "fake news"
As journalists, our first concern is to provide quality information to our audience. Yet, our work is also being questioned today. Too many new media sites and channels provide too short or distorted information to seduce or manipulate their audience . We fight against these phenomena of "fake news" and disinformation and support all journalists who continue the search for true news facts in this new universe.

The safety of journalists
The work of journalists is becoming increasingly difficult. Their safety and freedom of movement are increasingly threatened. Governments and powerful individuals are more and more inclined to control information. For many, the truth is often unpleasant. Nevertheless, every journalist has the calling to expose political abuse of power, financial or other fraud and to resist pressure from those involved. Every journalist must be able to continue to work independently without being hindered in his search for information and release of it. Our mission is to support all journalists hereby.
